Look for Less

by Liz

I've been eying these Frye's for a long time and while I know Frye's are high quality there is no way I can justify to myself that spending $318 on red cowboy boots is something my wallet can handle. How amazingly perfect are they?
I have searched high and low for these puppies to be on sale with no such luck. I had tried to find a similar pair that I liked and came up short until this morning. I can't say what made me decide to check out Aldo's website but low and behold...
Pretty darn close, right? And the price is way more my style ringing in at $59.98 on sale. Perhaps red cowboy boots will be in my future after all.

And while I am at it, I've been a major fan of the Elizabeth and James knuckle ring. I know its totally insane and giant, but like I said before, I love the big baubles.

Again, definitely out of the budget at $195. I searched around for some knock offs and heard about some that people found on eBay but they didn't have great reviews. Then on a rainy Sunday afternoon I found this gem on Etsy:

At $75 it is still definitely expensive, but I'd rather spend that and support someone's handmade craft then let shopbop suck all my money away.

**Random side note - Emi and I saw one of the shopbop models at Lollapalooza last year!**

Happy shopping everyone!

Online Shopping & Stash Buster Update!

by Liz

One of my favorite clothing stores finally opened up an online shop! Madewell is what some would call "J. Crew's hip younger sister." I think its safe to say I know where my next paycheck is going. Here are some pieces that stood out to me:

This last picture is probably my favorite out of the bunch. I love the stripes with the floral romper and chunky necklace. I also need to figure out how to make these wedges work with budget.

Looks like I'll be eating peanut butter and jelly for the month of June to make this happen.

Stash Buster update: I started making the Butterick top on Sunday and I'm almost done! It came out a little too big and tent-like so I need to make some adjustments. I also am out of town and forgot to pack my camera (whoops). I was hoping to show my progress, but it looks like you all will be in suspense for another week. Hope everyone enjoys their long weekend!

Time to Smile

by Emily

One of my favorite things to do during a particularly uninspiring Friday (today being a great example) is to find a few images that keep my spirits up and get me that much closer to the weekend.

This link says it all. There are quite a few gnomes to purchase. I highly suggest checking them out at Unica Home.

I’m in no way bitter towards my job, but there are some days that these post-it notes would come in very handy.

I’m a bird lover, so much so that I find humor and fascination in pigeons.

The colors in this photo really brighten my mood, plus how enticing do all of those sweets look?

I’m very much in love with modern looking dinnerware and glassware, and these Ona pitchers are exceptionally gorgeous.

And last but not least, in pondering what I will make for dinner, I couldn’t help but wish I had this apron to wear tonight.

Happy Friday everyone!
